Cultivating Resilience, LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the website located at regenerativefarmresilienceguide.org (the “Site”), through which we provide consulting, speaking, research, and educational services related to resilience thinking and climate adaptation. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect through the Site, how we use and disclose it, and the rights available to you under applicable U.S. state and federal privacy law.

2. Personal Information We Collect

We collect the following kinds of personal information through the Site:

Contact and Downloads form information — the name, email address, and other information you provide when you submit our forms.
Privacy request information — the name and email address you provide if you submit a privacy request through our cookie preferences page (realworldresilience.com/opt-out-preferences/).
Cookie consent records — a random identifier stored in your browser by our cookie tool and, when you allow statistics or marketing cookies, a record of your choice.
Automatically collected technical information — through cookies and similar technologies used by the Site, described in Section 6 below.

We do not otherwise collect personal information through the Site (for example, we do not operate e-commerce checkout, online scheduling, or account log-in features that would collect additional personal information).

3. Sources of Personal Information

We collect personal information directly from you when you submit the forms or a privacy request, and automatically through your use of the Site via cookies and similar technologies, including the consent records kept by our cookie tool.

4. How We Use Personal Information

Responding to your inquiry submitted through the forms.
Operating, securing, and maintaining the Site (e.g., spam and bot prevention, caching, and content delivery).
Understanding how visitors use the Site so we can improve it (site statistics).

5. How We Disclose Personal Information

We do not sell personal information, and we are not aware of any current use of the Site’s cookies or scripts for cross-context behavioral advertising. We disclose personal information only to the service providers described in Section 6 below (for hosting, security, spam prevention, and site statistics), and to law enforcement or other parties where required by law or to protect rights, safety, and property.

6. Cookies and Site Technologies

The Site uses the following categories of cookies and third-party technologies, consistent with the current listing at our cookie preferences page:

Functional/technical cookies — required for the Site to work correctly, including cookies set by WordPress (our website platform).
Security cookies — Wordfence (security and fraud prevention) and Cloudflare (content delivery and bot mitigation, cookie __cf_bm).
Statistics cookies (only with your consent) — GoDaddy, which hosts this website, provides analytics scripts that run on our public pages. If you allow statistics cookies in our cookie banner, these scripts send information about your visit to GoDaddy, including a record of the pages you view and how quickly they loaded. This information includes, among other things: a visitor identifier and a visit identifier (codes stored in the cookies below; on a first visit they are the same code); the full address of each page, including any words you search for on our site; the address of the page that sent you here (referrer), as your browser reports it; how many pages you have viewed in this visit; your browser’s user-agent string; your screen and window size; page-load timings; whether you are logged in to this site; and technical details about the website itself. GoDaddy’s scripts also contain code for other kinds of events, such as clicks. As with any request on the internet, the servers that receive these requests see the IP address they come from. The scripts set three cookies, each renewed when you view a page: _tccl_visitor (visitor identifier; 1 year), _tccl_visit (visit identifier; 30 minutes) and _scc_session (a page count and a timestamp for this visit; 20 minutes). If you do not allow statistics cookies, or you choose Deny, these scripts do not run on our public pages and these cookies are not set. Until September 25, 2026, these scripts could run on our pages before, or regardless of, a visitor’s choice in the cookie banner. People who log in to manage this website are not covered by the cookie banner: while they are logged in, GoDaddy’s analytics scripts and a session-recording tool (FullStory) run in the site’s admin area and may also run on public pages. You can review the current, detailed list of cookies in use and set your preferences at: realworldresilience.com/opt-out-preferences/. If your browser sends a “Do Not Track” or Global Privacy Control signal, our cookie tool does not show the cookie banner and treats the signal as a refusal of statistics and marketing cookies.

7. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to know or access, delete, and correct the personal information we hold about you, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. Because we collect only the information described in Section 2, and do not sell personal information, exercising these rights with us principally means asking us to tell you what information we have from you, correcting it, or deleting it. If you allow statistics cookies, GoDaddy’s analytics scripts in your browser send the information described in Section 6 to GoDaddy.

To make a request, contact us using the contact form at realworldresilience.com/contact. We will respond within a reasonable time, generally within 45 days.

8. California Privacy Rights

Cultivating Resilience does not believe it currently meets the CCPA/CPRA’s applicability thresholds. As a courtesy, we will still honor a California resident’s request to know, delete, or correct the contact-form information described above; use the contact form described in Section 7 to make a request. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under California law, so no “Do Not Sell or Share” opt-out link is provided. We do not disclose personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing purposes, so California’s “Shine the Light” law (Cal. Civ. Code § 1798.83) disclosure does not apply.

The Site is a general commercial informational website subject to the California Online Privacy Protection Act (CalOPPA, Cal. Bus. & Prof. Code §§ 22575–22579) regardless of size. This Policy is posted to satisfy CalOPPA’s requirements: it identifies the categories of information we collect and the third parties described in Section 6, describes how you can request changes to your information (Section 7), states our Do Not Track practice (Section 6), and states the effective date above; we will note any changes as described in Section 12.

9. Other State Privacy Rights

Cultivating Resilience does not believe it currently meets the applicability thresholds of the other state comprehensive privacy laws (Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, Oregon, Montana, Florida, Delaware, Iowa, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Maryland, Minnesota, Tennessee, Indiana, Kentucky, or Rhode Island), each of which requires a substantially larger volume of state residents’ data or revenue than this Site processes. As a courtesy, residents of these states may contact us using the method in Section 7 to ask what contact-form information we hold, and to request its correction or deletion.

10. Children’s Privacy

The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has submitted personal information through the contact form, we will delete it.

11. Data Security and Retention

We use commercially reasonable measures appropriate to a small business website, including the security tools listed in Section 6 (Wordfence and Cloudflare), to help protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. We retain contact-form submissions and privacy requests only as long as reasonably necessary for our business records, and delete or anonymize them thereafter. Cookie consent records are kept to document the choices made in our cookie banner.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or in applicable law. We will post the revised Policy on this page and update the “Last Updated” date above.
