Planning Step: Climate Risk

Introduction to Risk Management: Understanding Agricultural Risk is designed to improve the general risk management skills of American farmers and ranchers. The resource includes a brief overview of agricultural risk, explains the specific steps involved in creating an adaptive risk management plan for your farm, recommends useful sources of information and planning tools for each step, and provides a checklist to guide your development of five risk management plans: production, marketing, financial, legal and human. Although this resource is oriented to operations producing conventional commodity crops, it provides a helpful framework and set of resources to help every farm or ranch manager step up their risk management skills.
