The CSF Growing Degree Day Calculator reports on historical trends (15 year average and 30 year “normal”) and current year heat accumulation to help agricultural producers predict when a crop will reach important developmental stages. This tool can also be used to help predict potential pest and disease threats and to diagnose unusual or unexpected crop development related to changing seasonal temperature patterns in past years. At this time, the GDD tool uses a threshold that was originally optimized for corn production, but the tool can be useful for other agronomic crops.
